Täienduskoolituse õppekava – AConsultIT Academy (AConsultIT OÜ, registry code 17431974). Version 1.0, approved 14 September 2026.

1. Curriculum title

Programming + AI

2. Curriculum group

Software and applications development and analysis (ISCED-F 0613); registered under the ICT interdisciplinary curriculum group.

3. Purpose

To give the learner practical entry-level programming skills in Python, web fundamentals and SQL, and a working understanding of modern AI tools, so that the learner can build small programs, automate simple tasks and use AI assistants productively in IT work.

4. Target group and entry conditions

Adults starting a career in IT, career changers and IT support staff who want to add programming and AI skills. No prior programming experience is required. Basic computer skills and the ability to follow instruction in Arabic or English are sufficient.

5. Volume

24 academic hours (1 academic hour = 45 minutes), of which recorded lessons 8 academic hours, practical work (labs and projects) 14 academic hours, and quizzes and examinations 2 academic hours. The course is delivered fully online as guided independent study; there is no classroom contact study and no workplace practice.

6. Learning outcomes

On completion of the course the learner:

  • explains what an algorithm is and writes a simple algorithm in pseudocode;
  • writes Python programs using variables, data types, input/output, conditions, loops and functions (e.g. a FizzBuzz program and a greet(name) function);
  • reads and writes files in Python, calls a public REST API and handles errors;
  • builds a simple web page with HTML and CSS and adds basic interactivity with JavaScript;
  • writes basic SQL queries to create, read, update and delete data in a relational table;
  • distinguishes AI, machine learning, deep learning and generative AI, and explains at a basic level how large language models process text (tokens, transformers, prompting);
  • writes effective prompts and uses AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, and runs a local language model with Ollama;
  • describes what AI agents and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) are and where they are used;
  • identifies AI risks, bias and ethical considerations and describes AI-related career paths.

7. Content

21 lessons in 6 modules: (1) programming foundations and algorithms; (2) Python – variables, types, I/O, conditions, loops, functions; (3) Python – files, APIs and error handling; (4) web basics – HTML, CSS, JavaScript; (5) SQL fundamentals; (6) AI – what AI is, how language models work, prompt engineering, AI tools for IT professionals, AI agents and RAG, ethics and careers. Practical work: 6 labs and 3 projects.

8. Learning environment and materials

Online learning platform academy.aconsultit.com with recorded video lessons (approx. 6 clock hours), an AI study assistant, embedded quizzes and examinations, browser-based labs and project briefs. Materials are provided in Arabic and English. The learner needs a computer with a current browser, internet access and the ability to install free software (Python, a code editor, Ollama).

9. Learning methods

Self-paced study of recorded lessons, guided hands-on labs, independent projects with review, quizzes after each module, and a final examination. The AI study assistant is available for questions during learning.

10. Assessment and completion requirements

Completion requires: all 6 labs and 3 projects submitted; all module quizzes completed; final examination passed with at least 70%; and every learning outcome in section 6 demonstrated through the assessed labs, projects and examination. Reassessment follows the Assessment and Certificates policy.

11. Documents issued

Certificate of completion (tunnistus) when all completion requirements are met; otherwise a statement of participation (tõend) stating the actual participation and volume.

12. Trainer

Amir Hanna – approx. 20 years of practical IT experience in software development, system administration and IT support; experienced in delivering programming and IT Support courses to adults. See Quality Assurance and Trainers.
